How encouraging! We really just never know. Vacation Bible School is an awesome opportunity to plant a seed that may just change a child's life forever. Some testimonies we will know right away; others we may not even know until Heaven. But certainly, even if our contact with the child is only brief, God will always be there, drawing their hearts to Himself.

Wonderful story!! It reminds me of something a friend told me once. For some reason she has little momory of her childhood. Certain things stick out but most of the times her sister will tell a story, she has no memory of it. We were really going over the top one year decorating for VBS and some of the moms were saying how much time we were spending and they wondered if the kids would even appreciate it..? My friend said that she could remember a year when she was little our VBS had a huge light house that really lit up...and she LOVED coming to church and looking forward to seeing the lighthouse. She said it made her excited and want to learn more! One of the ladies that was there whan she told the story was also one that built the lighthouse....she said it was not really that big! But to a child it was!.... I was glad the story was told to motivate the lesser enthuastic moms to put in 100% effort to make it the best it could be!......

VBS Changes Youth Lives
Here in the Philippines summer is a time of fun. Most of the children and youth enjoy playing and do their leisure time because is "VACATION TIME". It's start on April and ends May. So most of the church busy promoting VBS in their respective places. I remember the time that I was on only assigned in craft making it fun because children enjoy doing their art. Then years after I was assign as Teacher in Junior then Youth. In VBS I learn to share Gospel of Salvation through teaching. I'm so happy during invitation, children raise their hand and accept Lord Jesus as their Lord and Savior and continue change their lives. Time past, I've been busy in my job, I left VBS. But when I got married and have two kids, me and my wife commit our serve in doing God's ministry through Sunday School and VBS. Also my eldest daughter involved in teacher, she teach at the age of 11 in beginner's class. We have additional young teacher age 12 to 14, a fruit of VBS. From VBS student to VBS teacher. We thank God for VBS. My wife if the christian education directress, and now I'm the VBS Principal. From craft making, teacher to principal. It's a great blessing. We are on the 3rd year doing VBS in our church in the Philippines. Doing the same work. Last 2009, our church open two location in VBS. 2010 another location, 2011 one more location by next year if God bless us and give us more sponsors, we will open three VBS in different location. May God bless you all, doing God's ministry in VBS. Mr. Donato C. Manalastas, MAEd - VBS Principal of Hesed Christian Community Baptist Chruch Thank you and God bless.

So many times we think that we have to have the latest technology & the "biggest" whatever in order to be effective, but actually it's just creativity that we need! This is a wonderful story about the excitement that can inspire us, too! :)

Oh, my! This story is fantastic! It challenges me to remember Paul's words to the Corinthians: one plants, another waters, but God gives the growth (1 Cor. 3:6). I need to focus on what I can do each day for God, not on results I can see. Thanks, Jeri and Allison!

I am the Christian Education Director at our Church and I love working with kids babies - 18 years of age.
I was raised in a non-Christian home. My parents did not go to Church. I could go as long as I did not preach at them and as long as I wanted to but I would never be forced to go. We had a wonderful neighbor lady (we lived in the country outside of a small town). She had 7 children of her own some close to my age older and younger. She took me to VBS when I was quite young and as my dad would let me she also took me to SS and Church and later she made sure I had a ride with her kids to youth group and youth group activities. I loved ever bit of it. As I grew up I married a wonderful Christian man and we raised two fine boys who both have families of their own that attend church also. What if she'd been to busy with her Church work (very devoted teacher and worker at church) or to busy with her already busy load of 7 of her own children? Thank goodness she wasn't because this was my exposure to God. I didn't have the example of a loving Christian mother in my own home. A fun VBS - very loving example by my neighbor and many fine examples at Church. My husband carried on this example for me and has always supported and encouraged me to work with kids, Church, VBS, etc. as he's helped right along side of me.
