I want to say that at my church snacks are one of the most important time for a lot of the volunteers. We have had the same group of ladies creating and making our snacks for at least the last 25 years. Many of us grew up with those same ladies making the snacks. Their creativity even before the days of “themed” snacks and their heart for kids has made our VBS each year a place that kids learn. These ladies not only take the time to make the snacks and make sure they are ready for each group of kids, but they pray over each of the kids during that time. The ladies also follow-up with any new kids/families that have not been to our church before by taking them a basket of goodies a c couple weeks after VBS to invite them back to church. These ladies truly know the true meaning of the word outreach.

Snack ladies rock!
You’re right, the workers at VBS make all the difference, whether they’re serving snacks, playing games, or just hugging on kids. Most of them will never know how their small acts of love touch hearts and change lives … simply by letting a child know that someone cares about him. Truly special servants of God.
